What was new a while ago ?

Here is a list of recent updates made to the IIC. Note that due to the large growth, some changes might be obsolete by know.

March 10. 1997

  • Boomark replaced by online site directory
    The large bookmark has been replaced with a online site directory. Previously we were only linking internet related sites. Now we have links to other resources, science fiction, e-zines and more. Do you have a great web site ? Submit it to us and we'll consider it for our directory.

  • Internet Glossary
    The internet glossary has been updated with the following terms: netsplit, phoenix

  • New Award
    On February 17th 1997, the Internet Information Center was honored as an Info Service Super Site. Have a look at our awards

  • Updated Netetiquette
    The netetiquette has been updated with do not spam

  • Updated reciprocal links
    We have updated the reciprocal links with the submission we have received during the last weeks. We will also be checking the links next week, to see if the link to the IIC is still valid.

  • New top level domains for 97
    Recently the IAHC has announced new top level domains. This new system should go into effect during 1997. See domainlist for details.

  • Talkers
    Added an introduction and resource list about talkers to the how to use telnet chapter. Try them out - it's sometimes more fun than IRC.

  • Internet hoaxes
    Concerned by possible e-mail virus attack or wonder why you can't get the software from 127.0.0.1 - find the answers in our Internet hoaxes article.
